Committee of Lay Elders

The committee of Lay Elders is responsible for the spiritual welfare and activities of the congregation. They assist the Pastoral staff in carrying out the pastoral ministry. They will support the pastors with prayer, source of advice, helping them with special problems in their ministry should they arise, and concerning itself with the spiritual, emotional, and physical health and welfare of the pastor(s) and their families. Elders will also assist the pastors during worship helping them distribute communion, administer the right of Baptism, ushering and assisting with visitors and opening and closing up the building for worship and Bible studies. They meet once a month. There are 12 members that make up the Committee of Lay Elders.
