Worship Teams (Volunteer Opportunities)

Below you will find a list of ways to get involved with volunteering to make beautiful worship at Divine Redeemer possible.

Areas

Greeter Team

Our Greeters warmly welcome all who come to worship. Greeters provide that first important contact to all who enter for worship. Greeters also direct worshipers and especially guests and answer questions that they might have.

Usher Team

Our usher teams assist in worship by handing out bulletins, directing worshipers and helping them find seating, in collecting offerings, as well as help in the direction of communion. We welcome men and women of all ages to be ushers. Consider signing up to usher as a family. Smiling faces are always needed!

Please call the church office or email Gene Borchardt for more information on how to get involved as an Usher.

Pastoral Assistants

Our pastoral assistants assist the pastors where needed. Often this is during the distribution of the Lord’s Supper and during baptisms as needed. They will also assist the ushers as needed and oversee the worship service logistics.

Please call the church office or email Gene Borchardt for more information on how to get involved with assisting our pastors.

Worship Experience Team

The Worship Experience team is made up of individuals who operate the sound, ProPresenter slides, livestream, and other audiovisual equipment during worship services. A good ear and basic familiarity with computers and e-mail is needed, but training is provided.

Team members are scheduled one service every 2-3 weeks, usually at the services you prefer to attend. Serving in this way at worship services is a vital task that supports our ministry in a very important way.

We are in desperate need of:

  • Slide help for the 8am service time (my 10 year old son does this)
  • Slide help for the 10:30 service time (my 10 year old son does this)
  • 1-2 more people to train to Livestream

Student Acolytes

Acolytes serve during worship services by lighting and extinguishing the candles in the front of the worship area. Serving as an acolyte is an important task provided by our seventh and eighth grade confirmation students.

Please email Ann Marie Hahn for more information and training.

Altar Guild

The altar guild is a ministry that prepares the altar for worship. We have 4 teams that rotate responsibilities throughout the month to share the duties which include:

  • Preparing for communion
  • Filling candles with oil
  • Making sure the altar, paraments and supplies are clean and replenished as necessary
  • Changing paraments
  • Placing flowers on the altar

If interested in joining this ministry please contact Stacy Bader at stacy.bader@drlc.org

Lay Readers

A lay reader is a person who reads the scripture lessons during our worship services. Public scripture reading is an important ministry as the reader becomes a vehicle for sharing God's Word with the congregation.

Fellowship Time Volunteers

When we have the volunteers, they make and set out coffee and snacks between services. (Currently in need of teams, there are none.) Please call the church office or email Stacy Bader for more information on how to get involved with Fellowship Time
